MEET OUR DIRECTOR
Dianne Settlage has been a member of CBC since 2014. She was born and raised in Arizona, is an ASU sun devil and completed a doctor of optometry from Midwestern University. She has been married since 2014 to Caleb and together, they have 3 beautiful children. She has stepped down from optometric clinical care to focus on raising, discipling and homeschooling her children. She has been assistant teaching as adjunct faculty at the Arizona College of Optometry at Midwestern University since 2017. She was a previous director at another homeschool program and was given the honor to help CBC start its own homeschool program. She loves reading, crafting, and playing pickleball.
MEET OUR TEACHERS
Laura Delgado
Laura Delgado is excited to be a tutor this year. Laura and Jacob have been happily married since 2007, and have 4 daughters ranging in age from 14-5. She has been homeschooling for the last ten years. She has a B.A in Elementary Education from Geneva College. They moved here from Ohio in the summer of 2021 and quickly found CBC to be a great church home for their family. They are looking forward to getting to know new families at the academy.
Marcie Lund
Homeschooling became legal in Washington State in July 1985, just in time for Marcie Lund to begin kindergarten that fall. Today Marcie is a 2nd generation homeschooler to her three children: Keegan, Therrin, and Meadow. She and her husband Scott both grew up in Southwest Washington, where many of their family members still reside. The Lunds look forward to escaping the Arizona heat to visit them for a few weeks every summer. Marcie received her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Washington State University, where she also played Division I tennis. In her limited spare time, Marcie enjoys reading many different book genres, cooking creative, nutritious meals for her family, playing pickleball, and socializing with friends and family through board and card games.
becca ritzko
Becca Ritzko is so thankful to find a group for her family that combines her passion for teaching, community and being involved with her 3 girls (Ashlynne, Bailee and Keira). She started homeschooling her girls a year ago.
Becca, and her husband John, have been married for 13 years. As a family, if they are not rooting their daughters on at soccer or gymnastics, they enjoy exploring new places, hiking and cooking/baking together.
Becca earned a B.S. in Secondary Education and History (GCU), a B.S. in Dietetics (ASU) and a Masters Degree in Education (GCU). She teaches a variety of nutrition & wellness classes at post-secondary institutions.
jacqueline shoemaker
Jacqueline is originally from Colorado and relocated with her family to Peoria in 2022. She has been married to Jacob since 2009 and they have four sons. She has been homeschooling for three years. Jacqueline has worked in education for the last 20 years. She has a bachelors degree in elementary and special education from GCU and an educational specialist degree in school psychology from the University of Northern Colorado. Jacqueline loves Jesus, coffee, spending time outdoors, traveling, and reading. She is most excited about being able to connect with other homeschooling families and teaching through a biblical worldview at CBC Academy.
Tatianna Botea
Tatianna Botea has loved homeschooling since her oldest started six years ago. She's been married to her husband since 2011, and together they've been raising 3 wonderful kids: George, Malachi, and Hannah. Among other things, she enjoys reading books with her kids, managing a small chicken farm, and learning about native plants & permaculture. Her education includes a Bachelor of Science in Geography with a focus on Meteorology from Arizona State University. Last year she taught classes at a local co-op and is excited to be a part of CBC Academy this year.
talitha winn
Tally Winn is excited to begin her journey as a tutor! Continuing on their 2nd year of homeschooling with an energetic bunch of 6 kiddos ranging from 1 - 10. Myah- 10, Declan- 9, Gavin-6, Penny- 4, Dylan- 3, and Sadie Mae is 1- Tally has a BS in Dental Hygiene and continues to work in the field during the summer and any school breaks. Tally has been married to Jacob Winn for 14 years and are both native to Arizona. As true natives, the Winns spend a lot of time outside enjoying any kind of sport or activity. They are members of Happy Valley Baptist Church and continue to thirst for more of Jesus always!
